Pinterest reference
This piece was made for the srq project. I got the idea from a Pinterest post of a peacock that had brush strokes as the feathers. To make it my own, I substituted the brush strokes with flowers. To create this piece I used acrylic for the peacocks main body and face as well as the flowers outline. To add more to this piece, I filled in the flowers with watercolor. In this piece, I tried to emphasize colors and patterns. I did this by finding bright and bold colors that would Contrast with the darker blue of the peacocks body. I repeated the same flower pattern throughout the piece to emphasize the colors more as well as add rhythm. To give the peacock more of a realistic look to the neck, I added different hues. I added darker shades of blue to one side and lighter blues in the other to show that their was a light source coming from one side. To add some texture to the piece, I added the white dotted lines. This also added more contrast in the piece. I don't know yet if I want to add a background but for now it is complete.
